Green Elf needs Coffee badly...
Finally out of the South (insert negative comments about Louisiana here)... so.... who is in this neck of the woods? Looks like I will be here for some time to come, where's the scene. Who do I know that's is here and wants to go for a putt, yack about old times...yada yada.... Jet lag not subsided.... Brain recovering data... Processing....Processing... Brain off line... Coffee level low.

Coffee level Normal. OK so now that I have had a pot of coffee and feel normal again. I am looking forward to talking about bikes again without having to hear, "Oh those are dangerous, I would never get one of those". "What do you do when it rains"? and other assorted anti motorcycle comments. Considering that I have been stuck in this situation since 2012 I feel like I have been sucked into some fucked up alternate reality of anti-bike cage drivers, soccer moms, and weekend fair weather riders who think riding 50 miles is to far, It would be nice to be back around my own kind again... That is, unless I have been sucked into some fucked up alternate reality and this web site is the portal to where I came from and can only communicate with the universe I came from. Scary thought.

Dude I’m just in this for the Gauntlet reference, Green Elf indeed.

Have fun in the Pacwest.

Dear Gods I loved that game! One of the best multiplayer arcade games.

Gauntlet was on my top ten arcade list to get... I'm bummed my Choplifter may not have survived the move. found the mother board floating around the cabinet unsecured and I can not test it while it's in a storage unit. But anyway... Yeah Gauntlet is an awesomely addictive game, I would dump quarters into it back when arcades could be found just about anywhere.... Wow, flashback....
(insert Wanes World Flashback noises here)
I was at an arcade when a friends, friend road up on an original Yamaha Fazer out in Orange Cali. I love the way that bike looked. (Insert first cheesy love song that enters your mind here) I must have drooled over that bike for an hour.
It wasn't long before I ditched the BMX for something with an engine after being on that bike... OK, I'm back. Now that "RED" warrior (pun intended) has entered the game we just need a Valkyrie to kick some serious ass. Problem is, I think at the moment we would have to find an arcade in Kansas to meet at for a round of Gauntlet. :Jeez:

In which Oregon have you landed? Used to be (20 yrs.?), in Portland, the Rialto on a Thursday was where you might find folks like us. I cant vouch for Eugene, or anywhere agricultural, foresty or desert. But I intend to go back and visit sometime, so I'm watching this thread too.

Cheers.
I will definitely check out the Rialto, thinking of riding to Cannon Beach this weekend.
The Rialto, that's a pool hall/Pub off 4th Ave?

While on the ride I saw a bike I use to own years ago (not the same one) and had to get a pic. this bike was cherry. really took me back.
I have some old photos of me and Beemer Dan at Sturgis on my Seca. That bike was comfortable to sleep on, I passed out on it while parked on Main st, Dan was talking about something when a loader than usual Harley rolled by and woke me up. He looked at me with amazement and asked if I was asleep the whole time, I said yes. He replied that all that time he thought I didn't think any of his jokes were funny.

Anyone have a list of dependable, affordable bike shops in the Portland area?

Hit BeemerDan, he's in Corvalis, he might know. PM me if you don't have his contact info.

Also, Black Joe is down in Florence. Not really near Portland (neither is Corvallis) but there are definitely Ootmics in the area. :)

Man what I wouldn’t give for a cherry XJ550 Seca like that, I had a 550 Maxim back in the 90’s and that bike was a blast to ride.

Con Air used to have a 750 Maxim around the same time period. Same bullet proof motor, great bike. I think it was supposed to be the cruiser version. Still an awesome bike.
