BIKE PR0N FTW -- The Thread for Moto Pr0n

The place to come if you've been with us for years or it's your first time here. General yakking about anything motorcycle related. Think of it as the internet coffeehouse for the UTMC.

Exactly!
There are two names that just do NOT belong together.

Also, by the time the real Spitfire took to the skies, BMW had stopped making what the aviation community annoyingly refers to as "inline" engines, their V12s. Only radials at that point. I could almost imagine someone at Farnborough, the Royal Aircraft Establishment, bolting a Daimler Benz or Junkers inverted V engine to a Spit' for trials. If not quite. But a radial. Nope.

Not sure if anyone noticed this CB750: https://rocket-garage.blogspot.com/2018 ... ie-co.html

It’s not super built out, but the clean look really appeals to me.

Dark room, the subject lit by a single spot, all foggy and fuzzy. This isn't Playboy ca. 1967. This is BIKE PR0N!
Not blaming you, 0l4fderstout. WTF is wrong with the world when custom bikes have to be lit and staged like next year's new Jaguar?!

Yeah, I think the element that really made me go "wow" was the integrated flashers in the handlebar end caps.
Rocket Garage sometimes doesn't do enough pics of bikes, or they use what they were sent, unlike Bike EXIF

Naked and gnarly Strom 650! I've been considering Strom as my next bike and thought about making it naked, this guy's bike really sealed the deal for me. Although, I'd leave both front rotors on the bike.

Apparently, he has the weight down to 415lbs, pretty impressive since the stock curb weight was near 480lbs.

I dig that Combat 'Strom and have a serious chub for the Husky!

And now for some truly absurd moto pr0n courtesy of MO.com.

MO.COM wrote:Levis Are Back: V6 Cafe Racer

Levis began churning out lightweight two-stroke motorcycles in Birminghan, Old Blighty, beginning in 1911, and were good enough to win IoM Junior TTs in 1920 and `22. Later the company expanded into the four-stroke market, too, but production ceased in 1940, no doubt because of that little misunderstanding with the Germans.

Fast forward to 2017, the Levis name was acquired by a group of British motorcycle enthusiasts and designers who decided to jump back into the game...

That V10 is modular in design, so the engine that’ll power the new Cafe Racer will be a narrow-angle (22 degrees) 1200cc V-Six Levin says will produce around 120 horsepower.

If all is going according to plan, the Cafe Racer should appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England next month. Base price is said to be about £102,000 – around $130k today.

To be totally honest, it's interesting and appears to be well done, but it's not my thing—especially with that pricetag. I'd love to ride it, tho. I'm curious to see how a V6 would behave. Anyone have a guess on the redline?

EDIT: I just looked closer at their website:

Levis Motorcycles wrote:At the heart of the bike is our own V6 1.2 litre narrow angle engine which is mounted longitudinally in the frame. We are approaching the end of the design stage having completed the block, head and internal component design. Our first two test blocks have been cast, X rayed and successfully checked for porosity. We are now finalising the intake and induction design and hope to be manufacturing these components very soon. The engine development is going well and indications show we are on target to realise the initial power and torque figurespeaking at120hp with a similar torque figure. The firing order is very unusual for a V6 being, 1-2-3-4-5-6. This should aid power delivery and reduce harmonic imbalances giving a very smooth running engine. Indeed the engine has no need for an internal balancing shaft as it runs so smoothly.

They have some more diagrams and technical descriptions HERE.

well worth £102.000. Can you imagine the pain of just sitting on that thing, the instrument under your chin, thighs pushed around the frame tubes and your boots catching fire . good catch !

This might be the ultimate city bike:

BikeEXIF wrote:
Gothamist: A Suzuki DR-Z400SM built for NYC streets

Riding a motorcycle in New York means dealing with tight streets, big potholes and uncompromising taxi drivers. To maximize your chances of survival, you need a bike that’s compact, punchy and nimble—like a supermotard.

Add stylish to that shopping list, and you’ve just described this new custom from Brooklyn’s Jane Motorcycles. It’s based on a 2015 Suzuki DR-Z400SM, and it’s just perfect for the urban jungle of New York City.

Out the box, the DR-Z400SM doesn’t make a ton of power. But 40-or-so horses are plenty for a bike that weighs just 320 pounds fully-fueled. The Suzuki handles like a dirt bike and offers maximum smiles-for-dollars.

This one was basically new when Jane’s customer handed it over for a makeover. The brief was simple: make it leaner and lighter, and tailor it to the owner’s 6’3” frame.

BikeEXIF wrote: Unlike its famous cousin the CB750, the Honda CBX750 is a bit of a sleeper. But it does have a very unusual claim to fame: it was the motorcycle of choice for highway patrolmen in several countries. Honda even built a police-specific version of it.

One of those countries is Malaysia, home to Kerkus Motorworks. Founders Azahar and Raveen have swung spanners on the CBX750 before, a process that usually involves shedding as much of the original styling as possible. But this new project called for a different approach....

Went to the main office of my bank yesterday, but only because I needed the ATM and, subsequently, had to see the cashier to get change for the 100 the ATM spat out and that many retail places would be uncool about (they often don't even like 50s).

This was placed only a few feet from the cashier's desk, so the same stanchions and belts that surround it could also serve to direct where people should queue.

I don't know why it was there. As you can see, the metal thingy where an explanatory piece of paper should be expected is empty. It's a mystery Ducati. Mystericati.

I strongly suspect the local Ducati dealer just offered to let them display it, everyone involved hoping someone would wanna finance buying it for christmas.
It's a "Sparkasse", originally a "mere" savings-bank, still not-for-profit, and I don't think I've ever seen 'em give away goodies for new customers. They dominate the market here, to the point that the regulatory agencies had to prohibit them from advertising that, unlike any commercial bank or the credit-unions, they guarantee deposits in full, not just for the €100k the law requires.
