I should get the message within a few hours, but under rare circumstances, it might take me a day.
If you can login no problem, but you wish to avoid problem, try checking the "Remember Me" box where you login. I've meddled with the settings there, so even if you return here only once every couple of weeks, it should remember you fine. Provided you have cookies enabled.

Important infos about cookies
Show
To be remembered, you must have cookies enabled in your browser. Some people prefer using "private" browsing mode - which precludes cookies being placed on your device in the first place.
Some people use regular browsing mode, but may have chosen to disable all cookies in their settings. Sometimes, these people will end up tearing their hair out because a lot of websites just don't work at all, like many online stores, as many e-commerce platforms don't do bugger all without using cookies.
Me, I've got "Self-Destructing Cookies" plugins in my various browsers. Which lets me accept all cookies everywhere, smug in the knowledge that they will be deleted the instant I close that browser tab. I can even set it to delete the cookies only when I close the whole browser window, which is helpful with online stores.
And I can whitelist sites like the board, so the plugin doesn't mess with those cookies at all.
And you must use the same browser, on the same machine. Unless you're using something like a cookie manager that syncs to all your devices and things, your apple browser on your ipad won't have the delicious cookies chrome has on your PC. And unless google now manages cookies between your devices (who knows what the fuck they do), even chrome on your Android won't have the same cookies as chrome on your notebook, or chrome on your other Android.

If you've visited the forum at any time after November 18, 2020, you will have seen the message about a supposed data breach that may have exposed passwords. I know you will have seen it because, until today, there was a big general announcement right at the top of the everything.
Seeing how it's been nearly 18 months since that, with no further alarms getting rung, and how everyone has had 758,214 opportunities to take a minute to think about the security of their passwords, I've taken that notice down.
Follow this link for all the info that has transpired about the whole mess.

Re: eBike obsessed!
Battery success!
Sorry, I didn't take many more pix. I can add a final picture, but just imagine this, but wrapped in gorilla tape.
I first wrapped the sides with kapton tape, which is used for electrical isolation and it's resistance to high temperatures.
Next I wrapped the whole thing in painters tape, followed by gorilla tape. I used the gorilla tape for it's strength, but used the painters tape under it so it would be easy to remove without pulling apart any electrical connections..
I left the wired connections to the BMS exposed. I will eventually need to connect this to a PC. The Bluetooth app is communicating with my phone, but it won't allow me to change any settings in the firmware. It should be possible to change these settings on the PC.
But now I am in the midst of a deep dive on the differences between UART, TTL, RS232, RS485, and whatnot. Most of the documentation is garbled chinglish, and it expects you to just know how to hook this thing up to a computer.
I got this thing, USB to TTL module, and will try to get things communicating, eventually.
But, getting back to the success! I rode to work and back today on the ebike with the new battery! Everything works fine! No 'splosions, no failures. None of the three temperature sensors got more than a few degrees above ambient. Voltage sag was around 5v drop at full power and 2.5v drop at cruising speed. These are perfectly normal numbers.
So... FUCK YEAH. I can build batteries now. Achievement unlocked! LoL

Re: eBike obsessed!
Was this mentioned already?
Musk's recent forays into SLAVERY APOLOGIA not withstanding, the company he didn't actually start seems to have "created" another motorcycle.
I'm not sure what became of the Tesla Model M we saw a year ago, only that I wasn't sure it looked remotely appealing. Definitely not in Tesla white.
What do I know about this one: what you see, I stumbled only upon the image, no details. It's only a "concept" of course.
I'm actually hoping firmly that Tesla get on two wheels. If for no other reason that this would take any excuse why they cannot possibly make their autopilots recognize motorcycles. Last I heard, the SLAVERY APOLOGIST had decreed that all motorcyclists must die.
OR maybe that'll be why they never get into bikes. It would make designing cars to not murder motorcyclists 1.04% more expensive. Guesstimating high, high end there.
Regardless. I don't like the aerodynamic sporty look on motorcycles, but that's just me. I'm sure someone round these parts is gonna change their pants now.

Re: eBike obsessed!
I've seen the image pop up in a few places recently, as well. I think it's just a render completely unaffiliated with the company.
Looks like it's from this guy, but I can't find a blog post where it shows up originally. Maybe it's on his Instagram somewhere:

Re: eBike obsessed!
So much e-moto news has come out of this year's EICMA show I'm just going to link to this list of articles. There's, of course, several bikes that smell of vaporware, but most of these bikes look production ready.
https://thepack.news/category/eicma-2023/
Of interest to me:
Royal Enfield built an electric Himalaya concept.
Lambretta is back with a e-scooter concept
The Kove motocross bike with 60kw (81hp)
The new Super73 bikes look rad
Clicky the linky and see what interests you...

Was up in NYC the other weekend and got to stick my head in here: https://www.filipacchi.com/
Good stuff! Talked to a guy wearing a 'Stitch living in Brooklyn who commutes daily into Manhattan on his Zero SR -- his first motorbike.

Talking to both the owner and a guy who rode his Zero S there to test an Energica, sounds like the Zeros win, but only by a hair.
They are sexxah tho.
