Like ProblemAddict, and many before him, I have decided to start a youtube channel.
http://www.youtube.com/kacivic" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I will be posting bike related content as it comes up, with the first being Ural videos. I made one tonight on valve adjustment, and hope to do one soon with my buddy's bike on chair alignment. I would do it on my own, but it's already been professionally set up, and then more recently checked at a learning event and found to be well-within-whatever-spec-can-be-applied to a vehicle this basic.
I think I've gotten up the steepest part of the video editing learning curve, and would welcome feedback (as I previously mentioned in the face-space) on actual content flow.
First video (C10 wiring pt 1):

I'll get my Ural video link up here once I get it posted

If you've visited the forum at any time after November 18, 2020, you will have seen the message about a supposed data breach that may have exposed passwords. I know you will have seen it because, until today, there was a big general announcement right at the top of the everything.
Seeing how it's been nearly 18 months since that, with no further alarms getting rung, and how everyone has had 758,214 opportunities to take a minute to think about the security of their passwords, I've taken that notice down.
Follow this link for all the info that has transpired about the whole mess.

Re: I also did a thing...
Very interesting.
I take it "C10" is the model of the recipient vehicle, a 2nd generation Chevy C truck?
Are you sticking with the truck's transmission, or have you transplanted that from the donor vehicle, also?
I guess naturally aspirated ~400hp in a 47 yo car will be enough to have a laugh.
But aside from that, are you looking at any other hp optimization that the emissions exemption makes possible? I'd guess the catalytic converter is approximately the first thing to go, along with that rear O2 sensor. But what are you looking at in terms of mufflers, I wonder.
Or in air-filter/intake-muffler.
Very interesting project, mate. Jolly good show!

Re: I also did a thing...
To answer, yes, "C10" is the model designation Chevy used for this truck. The "C" series were 2 wheel drive, while the "K" series were 4 wheel drive, and the truck's "duty" designation was given by "10", "20", or "30", as 1/4 ton, 1/2 ton, and 3/4 ton, respectively. There were higher designations for the heavier duty trucks (C50, and so on).
I'm going to do a general overview of the truck in a video pretty soon, but the transmission being used is the electronically-controlled 4L60 that came from my Pontiac Trans Am as well. As far as the engine, it was completely rebuilt when I had my Trans Am. 4" forged stroker crank (engine displacement is now up from 350 c.i. to 383 c.i., or ~6.3L), heads fully ported, running through 1-3/4" primary long tube headers, off-road y-pipe (no catalytic converters), and an open exhaust, with other emissions systems such as exhaust gas recirculation and the secondary air pump removed, and the computer properly tuned to account for all of that. Additionally, the transmission was rebuilt by a performance shop to handle about 650 hp, and it was running a stronger torque converter with a 3,600 rpm stall to account for the cam. This combination put out around 395 hp and 410 tq at the wheels in the Trans Am, which is particularly notable to me as the combination was still using the stock LS1 intake and throttle body (about the most restrictive to ever grace the LS-series production engines), along with the least desirable heads GM used (even with all the porting work, I'd probably see a significant increase from a better GM head from later years). So, I suppose all the emissions-related hp drains were removed already, though illegally for the car they were in.
The swap headers I'm using are 1-7/8" primary headers, which should flow better, though I'm not sure yet what I'm doing for the rest of the exhaust system. I do plan to run high-flow catalytic converters, if only for the muffling effect on the exhaust volume. As an aside, I had a buddy with an LS2 Pontiac GTO running factory catalytic converts but no mufflers, and the car sounded great (not nearly as loud as you might imagine). Eventually, I do want to get some good aftermarket heads, better intake manifold with a 102mm throttle body (stock is like 78mm), and a more aggressive cam that's matched to my setup, but that's quite a few thousand dollars down the road from where I am now. I will probably want to do it all as a matched set, as I'm tempted to convert over from the cathedral port style head to the later-LS square port heads, which would require the different intake manifold anyway. I figure around $2,500-3,500 for heads, around $1,000 for the intake/throttle body, and probably $550 for the custom-spec cam, so it ends up being a sizable chunk of money to spend at once. Not to mention the tuning that necessarily follows, which would be made easier by upgrading to the later model computer (mine is a single-year-only computer, and there's not as much tuning support as for the '99-up model computers which are all interchangeable) which will likely tack on another $500, at minimum...
I'm still waiting to receive the hardware I ordered that will allow me to fit the front end of the truck back on, which I'll need to do before I finalize all the wiring, but the next major step after that will be getting the fuel system set up. Lots of details to be worked out, and while it's daunting for me to not have a set road map, trying to keep videos published on a regular schedule is forcing me to do something continuously.

Re: I also did a thing...
Nice sounding project. When we lived in Cypress one of our neighbors had matched pair early 00's Camaro & Trans Am with a mounting of engine mods to them both. Too much for me, I saw how much money was going in to each of them and while I can appreciate it, my interests lie in other directions. Now, take my G30 based RV w/ the 6.2L diesel engine for example, that's something worth pouring money in to, lol.

switching gears from the C10, did a video on the ural valve adjustment. having a hell of a time getting volume balanced on that intro, so turn the volume down at first if you choose to watch...

Re: I also did a thing...
Got the truck overview video up, as requested by several people who wanted to know more about the truck. Guess I still left out my history with the truck, and why it's important to me, but I can always do that later.
