Important infos about cookies

To be remembered, you must have cookies enabled in your browser. Some people prefer using "private" browsing mode - which precludes cookies being placed on your device in the first place.
Some people use regular browsing mode, but may have chosen to disable all cookies in their settings. Sometimes, these people will end up tearing their hair out because a lot of websites just don't work at all, like many online stores, as many e-commerce platforms don't do bugger all without using cookies.
Me, I've got "Self-Destructing Cookies" plugins in my various browsers. Which lets me accept all cookies everywhere, smug in the knowledge that they will be deleted the instant I close that browser tab. I can even set it to delete the cookies only when I close the whole browser window, which is helpful with online stores.
And I can whitelist sites like the board, so the plugin doesn't mess with those cookies at all.
And you must use the same browser, on the same machine. Unless you're using something like a cookie manager that syncs to all your devices and things, your apple browser on your ipad won't have the delicious cookies chrome has on your PC. And unless google now manages cookies between your devices (who knows what the fuck they do), even chrome on your Android won't have the same cookies as chrome on your notebook, or chrome on your other Android.

If you've visited the forum at any time after November 18, 2020, you will have seen the message about a supposed data breach that may have exposed passwords. I know you will have seen it because, until today, there was a big general announcement right at the top of the everything.
Seeing how it's been nearly 18 months since that, with no further alarms getting rung, and how everyone has had 758,214 opportunities to take a minute to think about the security of their passwords, I've taken that notice down.

A.I. Generated UTMC Art
Is there a thread for this yet? If not, I'll start...
Playing around with "MIDJOURNEY" AI Art program. You have to join a Discord channel and then you can enter descriptions for the images you are looking to create. For the first one, I simply entered "underground terrorist motorcycle cult". For the second, I asked for variation on the first image. For the third, I clicked on "Upscale" for the first (upper left quadrant) image.
Anyone else playing around w/ this stuff? As an insomniac, its a great way to whittle away time while waiting to feel tired again...

Re: A.I. Generated UTMC Art
It’s kind of interesting to reflect on how those four words of our group’s name relate to what we ‘really are’, and to think about what key words might create images closer to our reality, if less dramatic and interesting. As the concept goes that you ‘can’t prove a negative’, so it goes that it is hard to express what the UTMC ‘is’ when so much of what it ‘is’ is what we are not, a place for those who are not part of conventional HD-worshipping, 1%-emulating low-effort US motorcycle culture tropes. I wonder what keywords would give images of back-roads riding, diner laughing, coffee drinking two-wheelers, and if such images would be any where near as interesting as shadowy figures in night rubble.

Re: A.I. Generated UTMC Art
I hear ya, we are decidedly not aggressive ppl, but much of our imagery is pretty aggro.
I wonder if adding a - sign in front of the keywords would work in a boolean fashion... -larper -hd.worship, etc... Or maybe adding "tropeless" heheh
Here, I tried: road grimed astronauts, dimly lit parking lot, standing next to parked motorcycles
I think I should add "enjoying beverages"

Yes. Give me something to play with. It's not like I have shit to do.
This is the Uma Thurman Midget Circus evolved once: Trippy, innit.
Unicorns Took Mountain's Car is very disappointing! I blew 2 credits, and I didn't even get any unicorns!!

@Shhted thanks, DALL-E 2 is a terrifying playground.
https://labs.openai.com/
You get 50 credits for signing up, and another 15 per month afterwards. Each credit makes four images, and they are well different from one another.
Here is Unicorns Took Mountain's Car, with a few tweaks. I found a list of art styles one can tell the AI to use, no idea how complete. It is hence: https://tokenizedhq.com/dall-e-styles/

Re: A.I. Generated UTMC Art
Okay. I have wasted way too many credits on this, but I finally got it. This is the one!
I'm worried, really. I've been playing around to see if I could make it make me a nice cover for an old book project I was thinking I might pick up again.
We don't need AI to make art. But for a lot of things, this AI will make a lot of graphic designers unemployed. I'm thinking that, for a while, the marketable skill will be talking to the AI and getting results quick.

To my great dismay, the word "midget" is verboten, as is Uma Thurman.

My favorites in descending order: Unicorns that are gonna knife ya, well, the AI came up with that all by its lonesome.

Re: A.I. Generated UTMC Art
I found this digital artist on insta. Looks like they are using MidJourney to get some basics and then editing from there to polish it up. (Maybe?)
I know some (most?) artists loathe this AI shit ("Hi xtian!"), But, using it as a tool, getting inspiration, then tweaking it to your final vision, seems like the path this concept will follow in the near future.
Anyway, the images posted on the gram instantly grabbed my attention. I love that they went with a "wastelander" vibe but with a bubble-gum-pop color palette. It sent my mind reeling with ideas of mixing the ratbike & punk aesthetics I love with anything BUT black or grey colors.

As something of a luddite I have not bothered to try my hand at any AI-generated anything. Typical for me to is buy a game console two gennies behind the current one (I have a PS3 on my TV) so I'll get into long after the AI's have taken over I reckon.DerGolgo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 3:26 pmAaaaaaaaaaand
