If you have any problem logging in, please don't bother waiting and get in touch. Email right to the usual address (admin at...), use the contact form (bottom of index and most other pages), post in the Midget Circus, or message me directly on Facebook.
I should get the message within a few hours, but under rare circumstances, it might take me a day.
If you can login no problem, but you wish to avoid problem, try checking the "Remember Me" box where you login. I've meddled with the settings there, so even if you return here only once every couple of weeks, it should remember you fine. Provided you have cookies enabled.
If it won't remember you, and you want to be sure any failure to remember is actually such and not just an oops, please read the following (click the bar to make it "show").

Important infos about cookies
Show
To be remembered, you must have cookies enabled in your browser. Some people prefer using "private" browsing mode - which precludes cookies being placed on your device in the first place.
Some people use regular browsing mode, but may have chosen to disable all cookies in their settings. Sometimes, these people will end up tearing their hair out because a lot of websites just don't work at all, like many online stores, as many e-commerce platforms don't do bugger all without using cookies.
Me, I've got "Self-Destructing Cookies" plugins in my various browsers. Which lets me accept all cookies everywhere, smug in the knowledge that they will be deleted the instant I close that browser tab. I can even set it to delete the cookies only when I close the whole browser window, which is helpful with online stores.
And I can whitelist sites like the board, so the plugin doesn't mess with those cookies at all.
And you must use the same browser, on the same machine. Unless you're using something like a cookie manager that syncs to all your devices and things, your apple browser on your ipad won't have the delicious cookies chrome has on your PC. And unless google now manages cookies between your devices (who knows what the fuck they do), even chrome on your Android won't have the same cookies as chrome on your notebook, or chrome on your other Android.

If you've visited the forum at any time after November 18, 2020, you will have seen the message about a supposed data breach that may have exposed passwords. I know you will have seen it because, until today, there was a big general announcement right at the top of the everything.
Seeing how it's been nearly 18 months since that, with no further alarms getting rung, and how everyone has had 758,214 opportunities to take a minute to think about the security of their passwords, I've taken that notice down.
Follow this link for all the info that has transpired about the whole mess.

Re: Anybody ever.....
I spent some Quality Time on GOSTAZ's ZRX some years ago. Specifically, that was the time I said "Why the fuck does this thing have a transmission? It doesn't really need it." I then put it in 3rd and from dead stop -- without shifting gears -- took it up to The Ton. I didn't have to totally smoke the clutch, even. Ground was level.motorpsycho67 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 7:20 pmAnyone ever rode or even own a Kawi ZX12R? Seriously thinking of becoming an asshole again...
I've done the same with Lilah, to be fair, but it's become my metric for "Real Fuckin' Bike." I don't think Athena would've done it.

ZX12R is not the same as ZRX12. A bit confusing, to be sure. But, thanks...

Re: Anybody ever.....
Not that I got much to contribute, but I got an internets, so I Qwanted for "comparison zx12r vs zrx12".
My thought being brother Jaeger's experience could perhaps be translated.
I did not find that comparison.
But I did find:
- Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R vs. Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R
- ZZR1200 vs. ZX12R (magazine article reposted on a forum)
- ZX-12R v CBR1100XX v K1200S v GSX1300R
Now, neither was that search exhaustive, nor the be-all-and-end-all.
If I may suggest asking yourself what bikes you have adequate experience with that other people might compare to the ZX12R? And why isn't it called a Zixxer?
Is there, perhaps a bike in your history which, if compared to the Zixxer, would provide the most illumination? A yardstick? A meter rod? A foot bar?
In the end, with the exception of Bill's entirely scientific nought to hundredweight exercise (that's an imperial ton, right? Or is that what, a hogscubit?) and similar, any bike's characteristics are most commonly and most usefully expressed in relation to another bike, are they not?
Even if no professionals nor journalists cobbled together any road tests for that most illuminating comparison.
The internet doesn't forget. Doing a lot of googling for really odd stuff, I know the internet particularly doesn't forget message boards, forums, any of that.
If you figure bike x might be well worth comparing to the Zixxer. Odds are that someone else has figured the same. Or just did it, regardless of merit or virtue of such comparison.
It's a what, a +20 year old model? Gawd that feels awfully old for something that's totally a recent and cutting edge bike...
Someone will have compared it. Almost certainly to something you know and you can use as a yardstick.
I'm not offering to do the whole searching for you, but I'm willing to help. Give me a holler what sticks you can yard with.

If there were absolutely anything to be afraid of, don't you think I would have worn pants?

Re: Anybody ever.....
I was thinking somewhere, someone would have done a more tactile comparison of handling etc., the stuff going beyond the numbers. Or would have praised/lamented life with that model.
But you know best what you need to know, so don't mind me. Always pleased to help.

Hey, @problemaddict, didn't your ratfighter start life as a Ninja of some variety? Though that was a looooong time ago.

Re: Anybody ever.....
Yeah, long time!
The ratfighter is a 94 ZX600E. It is and has been reliable as an anvil. But it's generation is in the ZX11 era. Zx12R is a couple generations newer, and I can't really comment on what changes Kawi may have made in their manufacturing. Hopefully, and i would bet, that those bikes are stout. It was Kawi's flagship bike at the time and I would assume they'd want it to be perfect. But, iirc, they were trying to knock the Busa off it's top speed pedestal so maybe they cut some corners on long term reliability.
I dunno, I'm just rambling lol

Re: Anybody ever.....
This sparked my memory of this early Internet, or even, VHS era video comparison.
I swear there was another one, maybe done by the same ppl, where they do a long distance road trip with both bikes... I'll have to look around.

Re: Anybody ever.....
I think it's this one, featuring a cameo of a bike I own, the Blackbird, and also featuring MUCH hooliganism:
Gonna rewatch this one on my luck break today!
