Some heard from others, or were OGs, but how did you/us others from the Outlying districts find this place?

Halloween 2006: I Googled "Motorcycle Cult" My heart skipped and I didn't do any "work" work for the rest of the day, I was so goddam giddy.

Someone on the uppity SV forum let the term UTMC slip, so I looked them up.

I found the OG's at Paris one sultry eve in 02. Gumby administered the implant.

Go figure, huh?

I believe I was Googling "ride in the rain."

At the time, I was mainly on vintage bike sites which poo-pooed the question as sacrilage.

I lurked because I had recently moved from Denver and liked the chatter.

I signed up to ask if I could use the bomb-n-bars on a GS1000L I was blacking out.

If memory serves, I linked in to a thread about the Alice 105.9 fiasco from somewhere else.

It was a dark and stormy night. I alone was at the helm. The rest of the crew were gone. Greybeards all 'round. Everything else had been swept away except my own body. Luckily, with my own knife I was able to whittle myself a new head...
With that head I was able to read the email my wife had forwarded me from Rev CBL which contained a link.

Evil voices in my head told me I had to come here ... otherwise a band of evil ninja monkeys would attack me in my sleep.

...

or I think it was the UTMC nuke & pave t-shirt from aerostich, I can't remember which right now.

I was searching for the United Teenaged Miniskirt Connoisseurs website. I must have clicked the wrong link, and ended up here.

A little disappointing, but I'll manage.

CJP turned me on to it. We had been (and still are) cultivating a local rider's group of almost identical ideals in the Seattle area.

This place has the web infrastructure and national/global community aspect already in place, though, and makes a great compliment to ZKMC.

I look forward to longer trips across the US, where I can meet up with folks I only know thus far from the forums...

I had a string of HD Sportsters and was looking to do some long distance riding on the one in my stable. I yahoo'd "sportster touring" and found an article on the main page written by a long ago member named "Monk" who wrote about how versatile my bike could be. It was several months of reading all the articles on the front page before I ventured onto the forum.
So far I have recruited noone, and the one patch I have I lost a couple weekends ago before I got to affix it to my jackt. I am a poor example of what is right.

I dont know. I think the nuke and pave, but I am not sure. I like it here though.

I even after bondoing the small dent in my tank. painted the sides flat black, put a UTMC sticker on each side and matte clearcoated it.

The paint was sht though and I have to do it over. And I suck at painting.

I forget, now how I originally found it... Years ago... Rediscovered it after reading the "redneck Y2K motorcycle" article... Pissed us right off, and required multiple posts to voice our collective displeasure at being pigeon-holed as racist fucktards...

It's all good now... Thanks, Dan.

I'm an OG, and was there in the beginning after that other club got its patches pulled by some A-holes.

Thank you Darth Beemer, for showing us the way.

That other club sucked anyway.
I'm still pissed about the fact that I rode with them for over 2 years, rode through two goddamned winters, was around ALL the fucking time for years even before I HAD a bike, then was suddenly remanded back to being a "prospect" when we tried to get all official and organized.
That whole experience soured me on motorcycle clubs.

Beemer Dan stuck up for me, though, and I've always appreciated that.
And the more that I think about it, the more I am that I am now and forever going to dub him "Darth Beemer."

Late '03 early '04 ish I met Ames and Jeremy(non active) through Lifeon2 who was a roommate and mastermind of a little online motorcycle magazine (Called Life on 2) we were doing at the time. I believe Lifeon2 heard about the site from the guys at Aerostitch. I also used to keep circles with the peeps thet Ames eluded to in his post. Small worlds collide. First big do was one of mtne's bbq's and it's all been jolly from there.
