. . . which already made in gas version, and soon will be released electric one.
Because they are really going after the "environmentally conscious dictator" market.

I think I recall this being mentioned on top gear. Even Jeremy Clarkson found it...a bit much, if memory serves. Hammond drove one around Johannesburg or Pretoria or Cape Town, some big city in South Africa. He enjoyed it rather a lot, if further memory serves further...

That was a civilian version of an MRAP. It is very similar to a vehicle called the RG-31 that was originally designed by a company called OMC which was bought by BAE Systems. I actually involved in a special project to build the first 20 of these made in the USA with the help of a group of South Africans at the York, PA facility which I am currently laid off from. They are also built by General Dynamics under license.

Speaking of MRAPs... braking tests can be a real bitch when you don't want to pay for ABS (the US MRAPs do have ABS, and don't do this, apparently):

While my further memory dis-serving me like that is a bummer, that brake test video makes up for it.
Everyone and their grandmother can build a car that tears itself apart accelerating.
You know your car was built by serious people to do serious things when it can tear itself apart just stopping.
That's a car built for people who value the job they gotta do higher than their measly set of wheels.

That is an Iraqi Light Armored Vehicle or ILAV and is made for the Iraqi Army, it is basically a Force Protection Cougar built with every corner cut they possibly can to make it as cheap as possible. We did build the hulls for the ILAV where I worked but we didn't do any of the assembly or testing on them.

Any part of these vehicles (all MRAP's) that isn't part of the crew capsule is designed to be easily torn from the hull in an explosion to help absorb the impact and sparing the crew. The hard part is making the suspension tough enough to withstand off-road abuse and still be easily separated from the hull, ABS does remedy what happens in the video and I can tell you from experience that the ABS on the BAE vehicles works well since I have been on a few shakedown tests with RG-31's and RG-33's.

The video makes it look like the vehicle is built very sub-standard but in reality they were probably doing the test to find out where the fine line is between durability and survivability.

And just for the hell of it this is the last one I was working on two months ago, the RG-33 based MMPV

the .us domain made me wonder.

"Registrants of .us domains must be United States citizens, residents, or organizations, or a foreign entity with a presence in the United States." the company snail mail address is in Latvia.

it probably meant to say latveria...

Their website is pretty tongue in cheek about the cars they built for The Dictator.

A sense of humor goes a long way.
