Just relocated back to MI from VA. (Where'd the riding season go???) Being around Grand Rapids, I suspect a cell is nearby, but my radar is fuzzy. Or not present at all. So, uh, howdy.

Nate is up in Kingsely, near Traverse City. Google says it's less than two hours, so that's near by your 'merican metrics, no?

Thats me.
I gave up the street this past spring but if you have a bike that needs to be thrown around in the woods, I'm about 3 miles from the nearest trail.

You need an URL that starts with "maps.google.com". Like so:
Code: Select all

or similar.
Let me fiddle ...

https://maps.google.com/ms?msa=0&msid=2 ... tput=embed
Is that right?
I just replaced "
www.google.com/maps" with "maps.google.com". The media tags cannot recognize the former, but will work with the latter.
Code: Select all

Dinner and a movie, ask it up for a drink, play some Barry White, then pin it.

Yeah, no street for now but thats O.K. because I had more fun in the woods this past summer than I have had in the last three years on the street. Things are pretty damn good at the moment, excluding this unusually cold winter weather.

Hm. Looking at the code you originally posted, it appears that google wants to lay two maps on top of another. At least there are two sets of code in there that lead to a map. Identical strings, apparently, but I think that may be how they do it.
Unfortunately, the media tags aren't built for fanciness of that nature. They handle one URL, not a flamboyant combination of them.
And the one URL google provides when you hit that link button, it will not deliver any ootmicks.
'fraid for now, a plain link is what we must settle for.
I might go looking into embedding full google maps next week or so, I'll have some time on my hands.

Nope. I've just played around a bit, it will not work.
I could get a link to display in a frame in a post, as though embedded ... but google don't allow no frames.
How to get the iframe to work I know not, and I'm not entirely sure I want to. There are nebulous warnings that it's dangerous going around.

I couldn't make it work on the forum ... but we don't have a new front page now, don't we?
Click "Portal" at the top.
