Everybody looks like a disturbing apparition and/or hideous monster on a webcam. Now that all pics on photo-ids have to be biometric and look generally generic, something else must take their place in the "oh I look horrible in that!" department. Only the very few, like models and movie stars, manage to at least look normal on a webcam. They've got camera-friendly features to begin with.

true. Personally, i compensate for this by acting the way i did in high school. For instance, today i helped a 13 year old kid make a mousetrap powered ping-pong ball pistol which totally horrified his mother. Total horror is pretty much the same reaction i got from girls in high school.
