Inasmuch as I kind've hate the world and most things in it right now, I wish all y'all a Merry Fucking Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Splendid Solstice, and a happy fucking New Year.

I'm struggling to maintain at least the appearance of holiday merriment so I'm not a grumpy dickhead for my kids. It's not easy this year.
Anyway. I hope y'all are happy, warm and well. Here's to 2017 sucking less than 2016, though current indications aren't very promising...

I hear ya, my job is 7 days a week, minimum 12 hours a day from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It really has a way of sucking any joy out of the whole ordeal. Plus this is everyone's first Christmas without my brother so it is mandatory that I have the happy face.
Just plow through it and don't be a jerk to the kids, maybe next year really will be better...

I've given precisely one (1) fuck about all of your merriment. Which as all I have to give. No penny, no hay penny, just uno fucko. So there you go.

Now that our children are scattered about the country, we celebrated xmas last weekend, so today feels a little anticlimactic. Not that we aren't enjoying the time to rest, but considering the way the past two months have gone we are just kind of having a weird time feeling a tremendous amount of joy. Then again I am not much of a Christmas guy, so this is a pretty normal sensation for me.

I attended a lovely Festivus party last evening, and the unadorned aluminum pole I crafted was a hit. I ate a bunch of tamales and drank some delicious craft beers, caught up with family and friends, it was a good time!

OK, I'll grant that a passle of home made tamales would have made anyone's holiday season infinitely better.

I miss tamales for Christmas. We've been rotating the menu for several years. This round was Greek /middle-eastern. So it was a lot of thing my kids had had before but none of the extended family knew what to make of it.
