Re: whatcha doing?
Yeah. While I noticed that a significant portion of patrons at the checkooint were in their early 20s, just as the band started playing, I had to leave. Boilerplate "Indie" rock, and at the same moment, a skinny chick walked past with a can of PBR. I had stumbled into a hipster man-trap. I'm so drunk at this point though, I'm getting a burger. With cheese, mushrooms and jalapenos.

Assessing damage.

Plus a puffy right hand, some slight friction burns on my right forearm, and ripped pants where I slid and the boot buckles wore through. It was around 15 mph lowside when the front tire washed out on a concrete bridge at a sharp corner. HERE
Assessed. Going for a ride now.

All I can say is Hipsters can un-ironically chew on my nuts. I had to use my reel mower on my entire yard this morning as my normal gas/'Murica powered one has a problem with the self propelled wheels, preventing it from moving. While mowing one's grass to the sound of a sewing machine can be soothing, and I can personally attest to the healthy benefits to my yard, it fucking kicked my ass. I have so much else to do today and I am completely wiped out now.

What?! Reel mower = Hipster?
I'm so happy to be rural. No one would see me using my reel mower and mistake me for a hipster. They'd just think I was weird for not using a gasoline-powered contraption.

Re: whatcha doing?
I recently put three new heavy duty blades on my lawnmower. They're all on the same plane now, cuts nicely enough that Der Golgo complemented me on the neatness of the lawn. The old blades were like twisty butter knives.
Last week, my brother brought over the Troy-Bilt wheeled trimmer from his property. I cleaned out the tiny carburetor, changed the oil, spark plug & air filter and it consistently starts on the third pull. It's an industrial weed eater with a six horse Briggs engine. It even has electric start! Tiny little starter motor, itty-bitty battery. This is the sort of tool that instantly finds use around East Goatfuck. I try to keep the undergrowth at bay so human pedestrian types can get around without being attacked (see DGs Instagram stream).

I got the heavy duty blades on Amazon for way less than the OEM set.
Had my first mishap with the trimmer this evening when it found a bit of Dad's hillbilly wiring. Knocked out power to the air compressor, I'll fix it in the daylight.

I need to give my lawn mower a good once over. The heat and doctored crap we call Gas around here has eaten through a few of the rubber bits. I also need to take my power washer in and have them figure out WTF is wrong with the ignition system. We can't get it to fire and I can't seem to get the airgap set correctly on the new coil/trigger module.
Right now I am waiting for my Son to get up so I can get back to reloading. I may be headed to the hills in a few weeks after some deer and elk. I don't have a firm "It's Yours" on a friends extra Tags yet. His wife is due at the open of Elk Season, so he is thinking of having me use is tag and go up with his dad and brother. Since they will handle the processing, letting them keep half is more than fair.
Also need to track down a new transmission for my 74 super Beetle while I am doing all this internet dawdling...

I was supposed to get my monthly infusion today, but woke up to a ruptured water heater. I'll have to cap off the line that feeds the heater, then live without hot water until I can repair (unlikely) or replace the unit. I rescheduled the infusion to next Tuesday, which just puts the decisive nail in the coffin of this year's DOOM for me.

I was wondering what finally brought the ax down. I think rag is actually closer than doom isn't it? And longer. And farther flung ootmiks. I'd say its worth the wait if it was going to be one or the other.
Did the full 100 hr service on the Deere today. Turns out, the right blade was loose and wobbling. Unfortunately it shredded the hub/spindle/mount thing that locks it in place. Even still, enough torque and it seems to be holding in place. Might last long enough to put in the garage and forget about til spring.
here's to hoping!!

Yeah, Rag is like half the distance, and the route runs through some of my old stomping grounds. This way, I'm not setting out on an epic ride on an untested machine.
I restored power to the air compressor, disconnected power from the water heater, disconnected the water lines, now I'm waiting for the tank to drain, then I'll remove it from its closet and inspect the damage.

My well pump failed. All better now, haven't gotten the bill yet. Sure, could have bought a $380 model from Lowe's or whatever with a one year warranty but decided fuck that, I'll go with a real pump and five year warranty.
I also had to schedule a CT scan for my head b/c of some past head trauma and so on. Considering all this, I still think at the back of my mind, "A new 520 chain isn't that much." Then I consider the mileage to DOOM, the weather this time of year, my age, et al and think, well... I dunno. Feeling sorry for myself, I guess.

Attempting the impossible: trying to figure out a girl. The only thing i'm certain of is that something is wrong and direct inquiry as to what that might be is most unwelcome. I'm having a curiously parallel problem with the zrx's ignition. everything's fine for a week then all of a sudden it cuts in & out for no apparent reason. THAT I can figure out - suspect the kickstand switch or loose wire, just haven't had a chance to look into it yet or a place to do so. Other than that I've been skateboarding, smoking cigarrettes and discussing metaphysics with norvin (dog) who is smarter than i.
